Coffee Shops helps with specific coffee-machine questions, café drinks, brewing quantities and coffee history. Our aim is to make an everyday question easier to answer—and make the answer checkable.
What you will find here
The machine guides match exact models and indicator patterns to manufacturer procedures. Checklists, light illustrations and rest timers run in your browser. They do not inspect the machine, diagnose a failed part or replace its safety instructions. Model coverage is stated at the top of each guide.
The drink guides help you understand menu names without treating every café’s recipe as identical. The calculators handle defined arithmetic: dry coffee and brewing water, or concentrate and added liquid. The history connects coffee with the people, trade and institutions that shaped it.
Who writes the guides?
We publish under the Coffee Shops name. Coffee Shops Editorial Desk and Coffee Shops Verification Desk are organizational role aliases, not named individuals or claims of professional credentials. Research and writing are AI-assisted. We do not claim café visits, equipment testing, interviews or independent human review that did not happen.
Sources and limits
Sources appear on the relevant guide. A café’s recipe can establish what that café recommends; it cannot settle a universal definition. A museum record can identify an object and design date without establishing all of its inventor’s claims. Where those limits affect the answer, we keep them alongside it.
A research-check date records when references were consulted. It is not an invented publication date, and changing a date is not a substitute for improving an answer. The long history retains its own research cutoff of 11 September 2026.
Using the calculators
Calculations run in your browser. There is no account or form submission. A copied recipe includes its assumptions, and the units are stated beside the inputs. Brewing tools do not measure extraction, taste, caffeine or the suitability of your equipment.
Privacy
This version does not include advertising pixels, analytics scripts or newsletter forms. Machine-help notes and checkmarks stay in the open tab and are not submitted or saved to an account; a reload clears them. Clipboard access happens only after you press a copy button. The hosting service may process ordinary request information to serve the site. External source links and their privacy practices belong to their respective publishers.
Keep a useful reference
You can print the guides or save the free history research edition. An RSS feed lists the guide collection without requiring an email address.
Corrections
Check the linked source when a claim looks wrong. A useful correction identifies the exact sentence, the supporting passage and what should change. We have not listed a contact address because no monitored editorial inbox has been established.
